on sunday 6th may at the youth club we jumped, skipped, walked, cycled and crawled our way for over 75 miles raising around £350 per charity. thank you to everyone involved it means so much to me and the charities it supported! here is a little about what the charities mean to me personally. my name is kirilynn and i am a mother of two beautiful children and i work at this fantastic place called mary hare. a secondary school for deaf young people. i have been here nearly 11 years and it has become a huge part of my life. to have the opportuntiy to watch children become adults is an amazing chance but to actually be apart of it and help make a difference means so much more. i believe in the young people and giving them the right to become our future . i have had personal struggles for most of my life and this is why these four charites are so important to me and this is why i want to help make a difference. my childhood was difficult and i missed out on a lot of things and this is why i am a great believer in young people of today. young people deserve the right to a good start in life and when you are faced with a disability your choices become more difficult, but with the right kind of care and the right people believing in them they can achieve whatever they put their minds too! they are bright young things with a passion for life even when life has dealt them a blow. mary hare youth club; coles diner was set up for these young people in mind giving them an opportunity to shine and grow in a space to call there own. i believe the youth club offers so much more than burgers and fizzy drinks it gives the children an insight into a working life and a chance to gain important life skills. these young people drive me forward in making the youth club a fun safe place to be - without them there would be no youth club. your sponsorship money will help keep the doors open and give the space a chance to grow and change with the young people too - £500 will buy a sound system and tv so the young people can see and feel the music in the youth club. youth club; coles diner happy days was set up for my son. he is called finn and is nearly 8 years old. he has aspergers which is on the autistic spectrum. my heart breaks everyday for him. he wants to fit in and be normal and he finds life very different to the rest of us. he is in his own little world. i can't give him medicine or an operation to make him better he will always be like this and every day we have different challenges to face. but we are getting there. happy days is a space once a month for children like finn and his sister tilly and parents like us where we all understand the difficulties and can support each other too. it means we can be ourselves with our children too in a space to call their own. it has been a breath of fresh air for me helping others like finn and i hope to keep this club going and to secure £500 would mean we would be able to buy special toys, light and sound equipment to help with sensory overload and perception for the children who come to the club. cancer research; i lost my mum 6 years ago and losing someone close is always difficult and the experince of cancer is draining and so sad. cancer research uk is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. th
